I created this blog five years ago already! Curiously enough, this is the first time I’m celebrating the anniversary of this blog. Since I publish, like, two posts a year (ok, maybe a bit more), I didn’t think it was significant to celebrate each year. However, five years is something to be underlined. My blog is almost as old as David Bowie’s passing. Snif. 😥
The idea for a blog on such an exclusive subject originates in the fact that I had more and more difficulty to determinate who was my favourite actresses between Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman. Instead of endlessly debating the question, I just thought they would be my holy trio and to love them equally for their respective reasons. If memory serves right, my initial idea was to make a blog dedicated to Grace Kelly exclusively. Since such websites exist already, the plan changed rapidly. As a matter of fact, that’s probably why the first article on this blog is on how I discovered Grace Kelly and not a proper introduction to the blog explaining what it will be about.

Although I don’t write on Three Enchanting Ladies as much as I do on my main blog, The Wonderful World of Cinema, when I do, I always immensely enjoy it. I believe Three Enchanting Ladies encourages me to cross the boundaries as for the topics to discuss. Not that it is not the case with The Wonderful World but, somehow, I am more encouraged to do so here. The fact that it’s on a more precise subject explains that. I wanted to do more than simply writing films reviews on this blog and was determined to discuss all aspects of Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman and Audrey Hepburn’s personal and professional life. That’s why I’ve explored topics such as book reviews, locations related to the ladies, their friendship with other actors or film personality, and so forth. Evidently, there is more brainstorm to do to find those ideas, but, in the end, it always turns out to be simulating subjects and some that might not have been discussed a lot before.

And the most rewarding aspect of these articles is probably the fact that I learn a lot myself by doing various researches! For example, before writing my article on the times Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly visited Montreal, I had no idea that Grace also visited Quebec city during Quebec Winter Carnival in 1969! That is, of course, valuable information.

For the years to come, I should precisely try to write more regularly on this blog (I always say that) and, hopefully, gain more followers. 50 is good, but there could be more. So, if you are a fan of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman or the three of them and are not following Three Enchanting Ladies already, what are you waiting for? 😉
Meanwhile, I want to thank all those who have read my articles and indirectly encouraged me to continue publishing on this blog!
Here’s to five more years!
