Have they Ever Met?

Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman and Audrey Hepburn have never starred in a film together. But as stars frequent stars, you might wonder if they’ve actually met each others. They did and we have some pictures to prove it:

Grace and Audrey

Those pictures where taken during the 1956’s Oscar Ceremony. Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn both assist to the event to present an Oscar: Grace Kelly presented the Best Actor Oscar (won by Ernest Borgnine for Marty) and Audrey Hepburn presented the Best Picture Oscar (Marty). In 1954, Audrey Hepburn won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Roman Holidays (William Wyler, 1955), and Grace Kelly won it the following year for her performance in The Country Girl (George Seaton, 1954).

On these pictures, we can see them backstage. They both wear a pretty elegant white dress and seem to get along well. Both born in 1929, they were 25 (haven’t celebrated their birthday yet).

In 1956, Ingrid Bergman was just coming back to USA…

Ingrid and Grace

In her youth, Grace Kelly listed Ingrid Bergman as her favourite actress. Just like her, she became a favourite of Alfred Hitchcock.

These pictures where taken in 1971 when Ingrid was introduced to Grace after her performance in Captain Brassbound’s Conversion (Bernard Shaw) at the Cambridge Theatre in London.

The actress was introduced to the princess. Grace Kelly was, indeed, not an actress anymore in 1971, but that didn’t prevent her from meeting some.

Ironically, both Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly died in 1982 at the young ages of 67 and 52.

You might wonder if Audrey Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman ever met each other. They might have assist to the same event, but, unfortunately, there is no available pictures of them together, so that remains a mystery…
